Hypertension or commonly known as high blood pressure has become a frightening phenomenon. Increasing number of people with high blood reaches a very high number.

But along with the times the hypertension drug and medical technology is currently growing rapidly and promise. The birth of a new generation of blood pressure reduction mechanism is different from the previous drug. There are approximately 12 golonbgan antihypertensive drugs under development, including gene therapy.

Other new drugs that also inhibit the secretion of tenin and eplerenon but only developed in the United States. Hypertension is a disorder in the circulatory system which is pretty much disturb the public health. Generally occurs in people who are aged over 40 years.

Based on the cause of hypertension can be divided into two major categories:
  1. Essential hypertension (primary hypertension) is hypertension of unknown cause. (There are at approximately 90% throughout hypertension).
  2. Secondary hypertension is hypertension caused by other diseases. People said to have hypertension when blood pressure over 160/90 mmHg (WHO). : (a) 160 is a pressure that is systolisn blood pressure when the heart closes, (b) 95 is a pressure diastolis the blood pressure when the heart relaxes.
Factors that could cause hypertension. Primary or essential:
1.      Heredity
Of statistical data prove that a person will have a greater chance to get hypertension if their parents are hypertensive
2.     Individual characteristics: Age: Increasing age would lead to an increase in blood pressure, Sex: Male blood pressure is generally higher than women's blood pressure and Ras

3.      Living habits
  1. Consumption of high salt
  2. Overweight or overeating: Weight loss can drop blood pressure
  3. Stress or strain: Stress or mental stress such as feeling depressed, moody, feeling sick, resentment, fear, guilt can stimulate the glands release the hormone adrenaline child's kidneys and stimulate the heart beat faster and stronger, so that the blood pressure will rise.
  4. Effect of other: Smoking, because it stimulates the adrenergic system and increase blood pressure, Drinking alcohol, Take medicines, eg ephedrine, prednisone, epinephrine, Develop the sugar

4.      Gestation
High blood pressure often increases in pregnant

5.      Pill
Birth control pills in the body of a woman has certain effects that are similar to the current state of pregnancy. In this case there is an increased blood pressure some are not so at the time of physician control pill continuously measure blood pressure patients. When the blood pressure reaction to the pill so powerful it is necessary to turn to other means of birth control.

Based on the cause of hypertension is divided into two types: (1) Primary or essential hypertension is hypertension that is not / unknown cause (located at approximately 90% of all hypertension; (2) Secondary hypertension is hypertension caused by / as a result of the presence of other diseases.

Primary hypertension is likely to have many causes, some of the changes on the heart and blood vessels together likely cause increased blood pressure.

If the cause is unknown, it is called secondary hypertension. In about 5-10% of patients with hypertension, the cause was kidney disease. In about 1-2%, the cause is a hormonal disorder or the use of certain medications (eg birth control pills).

Other rare causes of hypertension are feokrmositoma, the tumor on the adrenal glands that produce hormones epinephrine (adrenaline) or norepinephrine (noradrenaline).

Overweight (obesity), an inactive lifestyle (supine exercise), stress, alcohol or salt in food, lead to bias in people with hypertension have a reduced sensitivity. Stress tends to cause rise in blood pressure for a while, if the stress has passed, the blood pressure usually returns to normal.

Factor causes of secondary hypertension:
  1. Kidney DiseaseRenal artery stenosis, Pyelonephritis, Glomerulonephritis, Renal Tumors, Kidney disease polikista (usually inherited), Trauma to the kidneys (the renal lesions), Radiation therapy to the kidney
  2. Hormonal abnormalities: Hyperaldosteronism, Cushing's Syndrome, Feokromostitoma
  3. Drugs: Birth control pills, Corticosteroids, Cyclosporine, Erythropoietin, Cocaine, Alcohol abuse, Cinnamon (in very large amounts)
  4. Other causes : aortic coarctation, Preeeklamsi in pregnancy, Acute Intermittent Porphyria, Acute Toxicity timbale
